Introduction

A software engineer by profession. Sometimes I like to get away from the desk and do something useful. I can do most typical handyman jobs, I'll show up promptly and do my best. $60 is my minimum house call charge and I'll do small jobs for that. But for bigger jobs I may charge per work item.

Upon close inspection, work was average quality and not completed quite to my request. It was a fairly simple job so I chose him based on price. He advertises $60/hr but actually charged a flat price which ended up @ $100/hr + materials.

Hi Chris, I'm sorry to hear your expectations were not quite met, I wish we could have discussed your concerns while on site. In terms of charging, it is true I don't always work by the hour, especially with bigger jobs. But if I did, I could reasonably charge: 1 hour initial consultation, 1 hour shopping and delivery of materials 3 x 2 people work hours 8 man hours total $60 x 8 = $480 So, you could say I gave you an $80 discount.
