Miss Lyza - Music on a Mission

Hello! I’m Miss Lyza, and I’d like to tell you a little about myself and what I do here at Thumbtack...! I have been a Kindergarten through 8th Grade music teacher in Aurora Public Schools for 16 years, which gives me A LOT of experience rocking out with different ages every day! I am also a vocal major, and have been singing on stage since I was two, playing piano since I was four, and playing drum set since a little after that! On Thumbtack, I offer Music Entertainment, and sing for weddings and other events - including Singing Telegrams! Additionally, I do various DJ gigs/MC Services for weddings, school dances, and the like. I also give various types of Music Lessons, such as drum set, guitar, vocals, percussion, music theory, and composition. But, the main gigs I have been doing through Thumbtack is PARTIES! I do Costumed Character Parties for younger kiddos, and I have tons of Character options, from Disney Princesses like Cinderella, Belle, Elsa, Snow White, and Ariel, to Superheroes such as Batgirl, American Dream (female counterpart to Captain America), Black Widow, Supergirl, Elastigirl (from ‘The Incredibles’), and even male Superheroes like Spider-Man and Donatello from ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ (since I have some ‘skin’ costumes which conceal my identity!). I also have costumes for other Characters, such as Miss Lyza -Queen of the Nile (Egyptian Princess attire), Princess Poppy (from ‘Trolls’), Miss Lyza the Seafaring Siren (my Pirate alter ego!), ‘Bad Sandy’ from ‘Grease’, a Renaissance Storybook Princess, etc.! For older kids and adults, I usually create a party based off the colors or a theme or interest of the Guest of Honor! I’ve done ‘Goal-Digger’ Super Soccer Parties, Princess Adoption Parties, and Gold-themed Bat Mitzvahs! It’s all about making that person feel special, so I work very hard to create that magic! With these parties, I usually provide multiple services! You can pick and choose what works best for what you are envisioning for your party - or I can do them all!... *Character Appearance (Or attire that matches the theme!) *Vocal Performance (After setting up the sound system and microphone, I usually sing a song associated with the theme and then an original song with the Guest of Honor’s name and crowd participation!) *Personalized Crown/Themed Gift Presentation (I bring up the Guest of Honor during the songs, and present them with a themed crown/tiara/mask that I make with their name on it, and other gifts that match the theme!) *DJing (I include songs of varying genres, including crowd participation dance songs, songs associated with the theme, and age-appropriate dance songs that I have ‘super-cleaned’ to make sure they’re totally family-friendly!) *Games (I make up a few age-appropriate games that match the theme, and give out a bunch of prizes!) *Face Painting/Painting Glitter Tattoos (I bring my whole set-up, and provide Face Painting/Glitter Tattoos for Party People of all ages!) *Karaoke (I speak to the client to get as many songs set up ahead of time as possible, then add similar songs to have at least 20 tracks set up. And from there, I take requests! I am even able to help the performers ‘super-clean’ certain songs if there are a few lines that aren’t age-appropriate!) I love what I do - both with my main gig as a music teacher, as well as the parties and events I do on the evenings and weekends!
