I met with Ben on Zoom for almost 40 minutes. He explained his approach, and answered my questions thoroughly. I thought he was outstanding and pitched him to my non-profit group but ultimately another web designer won the job. I was disappointed but hope to use Ben for my own business needs at some point. He is friendly, professional, and knows his stuff! A+.

I am a small business owner and Ben Auten of ShadowComm has been “my tech guy” since 2006. We’ve never met so all communication has been virtual. That’s worked because Ben is conscientious and responsive. What I value most are Ben’s patience and great listening skills. He hears what I think I need, he hears the pain points my business experienced, and he provides solutions. That could be Ben’s slogan “No drama - Just Solutions”. I’ve never ended an email, phone call or Zoom with Ben and not felt better at the end. I felt heard and I knew Ben has the expertise to get me and my clients to where we want to go. Ben and I will work right up to my tech knowledge level, and then I say to him, “OK, you do that part, that’s too complicated for me/I don’t have the time, etc.” And it will get done and it will be right and Ben will be as patient answering my question the third time I ask it as he was the first two times. We’ve had a monthly hosting and site maintenance agreement since 2006. Ben has designed from scratch two of my websites, including a major business migration and overhaul in 2023-2024. I would never have taken it on without his help and I greatly prefer where my business is today, with Ben’s help. Thank’s Ben!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We like to start off with a free consultation to understand the Customer's vision and requirements for their project. Then we determine the scope of work to be completed, agree upon pricing and timeline and begin work.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    We've been working in web design, development, eCommerce and digital marketing for over 20 years. We've worked with small, medium and large Clients across many industries including non-profit, financial services, telecommunications, sporting goods, consumer products and home renovation to name a few.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    I would say in most cases you pay for what you get. That doesn't mean you have to spend an arm and a leg on your project, but be sure to review the Pro's portfolio and ask qualifying questions around the type of work you are asking them to do. It will go a long way in finding the right fit for your budget.
