Introduction

Front Range Forestry Services is a small locally owned tree service specializing in large tree removals and prunes/trims. You will have the company owner, Tom Ormond, on site and leading the crew on every job. Our focus has always been to work closely with the home owner to make sure that things are done exactly as needed in a timely and low impact way. With over 15 years of experience in technical tree removal and tree pruning, as well as storm cleanups and wildfire mitigation, we have the skills and experience to take care of what you need quickly and efficiently. Tom’s responsiveness was refreshing. He came out quickly and is very knowledgeable and explained how they would complete task of removing a 30 year old 24” diameter 60 foot branch from our maple over the house. He and I chatted about rescheduling due to snow storm last week. He arrived 20 min early ready to rock with his team and we are pleased with results. Stacked the requested logs for firewood without asking and cut them in manageable sized logs. We will definitely use him again. Safety and efficiency and reliability is what you get from this service. Great job.

I placed an inquiry for stump removal Monday, April 27th. Tom was very responsive and was out the next day for a quote. Right from the start he demonstrated his professionalism. He assessed the work quickly and gave a reasonable and fair price for the amount of work we had. He furnished a paper copy of the quote and gave me a copy of his liability insurance at the end of the meeting. He was straight foreword and told me the soonest he could get the job done was Saturday, May 2nd and that he had a big job coming up after that so he would be limited with his time. We did settle on May 2nd and he got the job done in a timely manner. I appreciated that he let me know that the job he had before mine took longer than expected and that he would be out about an hour later than he expected. He showed up on time and when he had trouble with his machine, he told me what the problem was and had a back-up plan ready to go. I plan to hire him to remove a large tree in the near future. Thanks so much for all of your hard work Tom and team!

Tom and team did really fantastic work. We had originally intended to have a large limb hanging over our yard removed entirely. When Tom came out for the consultation, he gave us the estimate for the removal, but said if it was his yard, he'd keep the limb for the shade and just prune it. This was also a cheaper option for us than the removal, and we were really impressed with that honest assessment. The prune was done really well, we're extremely happy with the result. We'll be calling Tom in the future for any trimming/removal.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Military and senior. We do deals on removals of Siberian elm, honey locust, Russian olive, and others as these are desirable milling species. Large diameter trunks only.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
20 minute estimate and consultation. Scheduling. Confirmation. We both sign a Work Agreement. Work is done. Billing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist. City of Denver Large Tree Service License. 15 years of experience in Colorado tree work.
