Great for those pets who tend to get nervous etc when taken to the groomers. Often pets are also kept in cages for several hours while at the grooming shop, and this can create a high level of stress on both the pet and the owner. This service requires the use of your tub to bathe the dog, or for larger dogs, an outside area with access to a hose usually works great as well. I then need access to an outlet so I can plug in my dryer, then complete the groom with the use of my tools. If this arrangement isn't ideal for your living situation, I also allow drop off at my home for grooming as well. I have a portable grooming tub as well as a table set up at my home for grooming . Grooming services start at $22 dollars and up, depending on the size of the pet, condition of the pets coat ( matting, skin issues etc), and services needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meet the client and the pet. I like to run my hands through the coat to feel for matting, tangles or any other issues with the coat and skin that may need to be addressed and to be able to properly select the correct shampoo products which are tailored to your pets coat type needs. Assessing and discussing the condition of the coat and the overall behavior of the pet often aids in determining what styling options can be safely performed and completed. Safety is my number one priority. Often times, some pets do best when put onto a regular grooming schedule, as they learn the routine and overtime start to relax more, allowing more services to be done such as haircuts, blow dryer, etc. I try to do my best to make sure that i provide a comfortable grooming experience for both the pet and pet parent. I treat all pets the way I would treat my own, with love, patience, and a gentle hand.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
