Introduction
Fully Vaccinated!! -B.S. Canine Studies, Bergin University of Canine Sudies. -AKC certified Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. puppy trainer -Experience raising, training, troubleshooting, placing service dogs, and testing placed service dogs for a Non-profit service dog organization -Experience with behavior modification for shelter dogs and for private clients. -Fun to work with technique based on rewards, self-corrections by the dogs, and verbal guidance or corrections as necessary. -Maybe the best ever at teaching loose leash walking 🙂 -I don't lie and claim to be an Animal Behaviorist or behavior specialist (that requires a PhD, if somebody says they are a behaviorist ask if they have their PhD) My name is Brian Grasberger and I am a dog trainer that uses positive reinforcement with a decreasing random reward schedule. I work to train the trainer so that you have the tools to communicate with your dog and effectively lead them. I will show you how to get your point across and build a relationship with your dog based on your leadership, their love, and the occasional treat. I was taught at Bergin University of Canine Studies where I received a B.S. in Canine Studies and studied under Bonnie Bergin, the founder of Service Dogs in the United States, and Laurel Scarioni, master trainer of scent detection and nose work who’s dog has won national competitions. My education involved learning how to train; service dogs, obedience, rally, agility, nose work, hunting, search and rescue, and of course pet classes and behavior modification. While earning my degree I housed and trained several service dogs and saw them placed with disabled clients. Through my course work I also volunteered helping train and rehabilitate dogs at the Sonoma Humane Society and the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter, which was both rewarding and heartbreaking. After graduating I took a position as Puppy-Raiser-Manager and on site dog trainer for a non-profit service dog organization called Canine Support Teams in Meniffe. While there I helped oversee the training of our service dog candidates by our puppy raisers, ran classes and private lessons, and trained dogs to do specific tasks needed by our clients. I picked out the puppies to become service dogs and scoured the local shelters and humane societies for possible service dog candidates. I also taught and oversaw a work training program at South West Juvenal Hall in Temecula, that I am very proud of, which involved teaching a small group of kids the skills of dog training while they raised and trained some of our service dog candidates for short periods in hopes that they might peruse it as a profession one day. The program won a state award and I believe it actually did help some kids and dogs. Since leaving Canine Support Teams I have been teaching classes and doing private lessons for clients with pet dogs and service dogs with great results, check out my reviews ☺

Our rescue Groot was already a good boy when we got him, but needed a little help with his manners. We opted for the 6 lessons, and just 3 lessons in I can already see huge improvements in Groot. I completely believe that 6 lessons is a perfect number even if you already have a pretty well mannered pup. Brian is great with your pup, really teaches you not only what to do, but why you are doing it which is huge for me. As a teacher myself, the why is the foundation for learning to do anything successfully. Very impressed!

We are so thankful for Brian and all he has taught our adopted, shelter-puppy, Truly! He was very patient, knowledgeable & so aware of Truly’s strengths and weaknesses. As truly was adopted from the shelter, she struggled with some trust issues, toy guarding, etc. Brian was very helpful in correcting these behaviors. We also learned so much valuable information and skills to keep her trained. 10/10 recommend!

Details: 6 - 12 months old • Large (41 - 70 lbs) • Private lessons • Puppy training • House training • Barking • Chewing • Destructive behavior • Biting • My home, venue, etc. • At the pro’s location

We are so lucky to have found Brian when we brought home our four-year-old rescue, Cash. We were told that Cash lived outside for his whole life, and he did not have any training. Brian new exactly how to approach training Cash, and we were so impressed with how quickly Cash picked things up with Brian's leadership. One of the things that we loved most about working with Brian was how clearly he explained what we should be doing, especially when Cash wasn't doing what we were trying to get him to do. He showed us and gave us a chance to practice. In six lessons over approximately two months, Brian taught us how to teach Cash touch, sit, stay, heel, slow, quick, wait, leave it, and more. Cash was overly excited in the car, and Brian helped us to interpret his behavior and correct it. Cash would whine and jump on us whenever we tried to eat in his presence, and Brian showed us exactly how to change that behavior. Cash seems like a different dog now! Training locations varied to include our home and public places, which helped us to test our skills and Cash's in the real world. When we told Brian that we wanted to get our 55 lb. Bulldog and 15 lb. Boston comfortable sitting in a cart made for human children, he was eager to make it happen. We are excited to take them to outdoor wineries and restaurants now. Brian was great about communicating between lessons and flexible with our busy schedules. Brian would be our first call if we ever needed help with dog training again. Couldn't have done it without him!

Brian is absolutely fantastic to work with and I would highly recommend him for any behavioral issues or general obedience. We hired him because our new dog kept going potty inside the house, jumping up on people, and not listening to us. Since the first session, our dog has not gone potty inside at all and is good at letting us know when he needs to go outside to go potty. Our dog has a really good temperament but Brian taught us how to get our dog to respond to commands (sit, off, down, wait) by using positive reinforcement. It definitely was teaching US how to train the dog and that consistency is important. You can tell he really enjoys working with dogs and was always punctual and willing to work with us.

Details: 1 - 2 years old • Medium (26 - 40 lbs) • Private lessons • General obedience training • House training • Chewing • The dog trainer travels to me
