Susan was great with me and my older dog. I had a few big life changes recently, including a big move and my 9 1/2 year old Shiba Inu was having a rough time. Susan helped me with him, getting him to refocus his energy. She was a pleasure to work with, knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommend Heart Pet Care!!!

When we got our puppy, one of our best decisions was to sign up for Illuminado Dog Training. We were happy to find the program to be customizable to our schedule and lifestyle needs. Having the trainer come to our home a few times a week gave us the opportunity to learn in small steps, reinforcing each step before taking the next. It also allowed us to quickly verify and validate what we learned. With two of us learning to train our puppy, we did not always agree on what we thought the trainer had advised. Having the trainer stop by every few days allowed us to check out what she said and ensure we were handling our puppy’s training consistently. Also, having the training in our home allowed the trainer to see and evaluate what would work best for us in our environment. We’re happy to say we could not be more pleased with the results. Thank you Illuminado! Our happy (now well-behaved) puppy thanks you, too!!!

We were fortunate enough to connect with Susan (our "fairy dogmother") shortly after getting our puppy, and we've been working with her for the past five months. What a difference she has made in our lives, and in the way that we interact with our puppy! Susan's approach is gentle and loving, rather than stern and forceful. She teaches primarily through positive reinforcement, and it's amazing to see our puppy respond. In just a few short months, our German Shepherd has become well-adapted and obeys simple commands. Susan engenders respect and trust from our puppy, and he is astoundingly eager to obey her; she has done a wonderful job of training us as well! Most importantly, her training teaches patience, persistence, and positive interaction with your pet. There are no "pinch" collars involved in Susan's training, no loud berating or punishment of your puppy. Instead, she trains the puppy with encouragement and reward (for our dog Max, that means treats and back scratches). Something that I strongly believe helped our pet to trust Susan and want to please her was "puppy camp," during which our puppy stayed with Susan for several days while we were out of town. While we were initially reluctant to leave our brand new puppy, when we returned, our puppy already had the foundations of strong training, and our subsequent training has been much easier because of that. I highly recommend Susan's training for your puppy or dog, and to the extent possible, I advise that all family members participate in getting trained so everyone in the family is on the same page. You will bless the day that you found your "fairy dogmother!"
