FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is based on how much of the face and body is painted, how many sitters are on the canvas, and how complicated the background is. I prefer to quote prices directly when I know what is required but I will work my hardest to work out something to suit your budget or refer you to another professional.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually, we talk on the phone first. For out of state clients, I will fly to their hometown, do a life sitting and photo shoot, returning to my studio with all my reference material to create a portrait in about six weeks. The image of the painting is then sent via email for approval and then the painting shipped out to the client using a trusted packer and Fed Ex. Air. For local clients, we usually meet once or twice before the sitting and photo shoot. Then the process is much the same. I like a local client to view the portrait in person at my studio toward the end of the painting process to approve it before taking the painting to their home - to be enjoyed for a long time! I really do enjoy the process of working with clients creating paintings and really want people to feel comfortable and confident in choosing me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I trained at The Arts Students League of New York and National Academy of Design, New York, under my mentor Mr. Everett Raymond Kinstler, N.A., seven time presidential portrait painter. One should never stop learning if you are an artist until the day you leave the planet. I also teach workshops, give portrait painting demos throughout the whole of Los Angeles County, and public speaking engagements. These all teach me!
