Introduction

Richman Music School provides the highest quality music training for every instrument. We are based in Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley and have teachers in several other cities, including New York City, Chicago, and Honolulu. Many of our teachers will travel to the home. In most cases, they also offer one free introductory lesson. We offer lessons on piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, harp, guitar, ukulele, banjo, bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe, English horn, saxophone, baritone horn, French horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba, drums, harmonica, accordion, harpsichord, organ, composition, conducting, music theory and midi/electronic programming. I wanted a teacher that could work with an older adult who not had piano lessons since childhood. After many years, I wanted to challenge myself by getting back into piano and I wanted to bring music back into my life. I was a bit nervous about making the commitment and about the time investment that would be required. I also didnt know a good teacher so I asked around. Howards name came up. He was recommended as a patient and knowledgeable teacher that would do wonders with students. Howards approach is not the conventional one that I experienced as a child. He presents many types of approaches and uses lots of tools and techniques to build your skills and understanding of the structure of music. Now, Im stretching myself to learn, remember and apply these skills and it feels really good! I actually enjoy practicing my piano. Now thats a testimony to Howards influence! If you are looking for a teacher that can accommodate your needs, encourage and inspire you, meet Howard and try him out. Im confident that you will be very pleased with him as a professional and as a teacher.

Avery was hired to provide guidance to my husband on setting up his Mac with his keyboards. Avery communicated professionally prior to establishing a date and time for him to come, and arrived on time. He was a great help to my husband, who is not too familiar with technology - he’s old school. I could tell he felt very comfortable with Avery, who readily shared his knowledge and showed my husband a bunch of new tricks in the short 60 minutes he was here. We immediately booked more sessions.

As a serious adult beginner, I have been studying piano with Mr. Richman for two years. I have experienced him to be a passionate teacher with exceptional patience and a positive, supportive manner.
