Hey, my name’s Jahan. I absolutely love music - creating it, performing it and teaching it, and I can help get you where you want to go. I aim to help my students truly understand music, leveraging both theory and history to foster a holistic understanding of the art form. Whatever your goals, we’ll have you playing songs, sight-reading and even composing your own music as quickly as possible. Let me know if you have any questions:) Bio: Jahan Raymond is a classical pianist, songwriter, composer, producer and teacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music composition from UCLA, where he was accepted into the highly selective school of music at just 16 years of age. Classically trained since the age of 7, he’s studied with longtime David Bowie keyboardist Mike Garson as well as UCLA professors Ian Krouse and Kay Rhie, PhD. He has performed at venues as diverse as the Greek Theater, the luxury cruise ship Oceania Regatta, and Sunset Blvd in LA. He has been teaching music privately and at schools for the past several years, and loves helping others discover the wonder of the piano.

Jahan is great! I’ve only had a few lessons with him so far and we’ve already gone over so much. He is super patient and great at explaining everything clearly. If you’re looking to learn piano I would 100% recommend Jahan!!

Jahan is amazing! I didn’t have any idea where to start when it came to learning the basics of piano because I thought it was so much information to soak in. He came by and made everything fun while still teaching me the most important aspects! He is an amazing teacher!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I find out what exactly the student is looking to achieve with music, and then streamline the lessons to get to that goal with maximum efficiency.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Formal classical training since age seven, two years of applied piano at community college, two years in the piano and composition program at UCLA, and experience as a hired music teacher at Sam Ash Music.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve played piano and written music since I was a little kid, and I just wanted to spread that love of music to others. I’m a student as well, and so I know exactly what makes a lesson engaging and enjoyable. And as a younger person, I pride myself on my flexibility and affinity for kids and teens.
