FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
FOR PRIVATE EVENTS (weddings, birthdays, corporate events, etc.): I will usually jump on a short phone call with you to chat about the logistics of the event, and to say hi! We'll go over your event (if it's outdoor/indoor, what I need for my setup, the length of the event, and if there are any song requests). I am happy to answer any questions you might have. To confirm the booking and reserve the date on the calendar, I have clients put down a deposit via paypal/venmo, and we both sign a short performance agreement outlining the details of the event. As the event draws near, I make myself available to walk my clients through anything they might need regarding the performance. FOR TEACHING: I usually ask my clients about their goals for their lessons, and what they would like to learn. I am flexible and open to trying different songs and different approaches with my students, depending on skill, age, instrument, and focus. Music and learning music is supposed to be fun, so I approach my teaching in that way! For children who are just learning how to read music and develop the dexterity in their instrument, we start with learning games, that incorporate theory but in an interactive and fun way. Then we strike a balance between working on those fundamentals and on the songs the child is passionate about learning. The approach is similar for adult students as well!
