FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a firefighter my crew and I regularly respond to medical calls of every nature. Because medical calls make up 80% of our total call volume, we put a lot of time into training and keeping up-to-date on the latest emergency medical practices. Continued education is an essential component of my job.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
As a firefighter and EMT, I am already heavily invested in the world of emergency medical services. Teaching people CPR is something I consider a privileged and it's something I enjoy doing. When I teach, my goal to to keep my students interested, engaged, and to educate them so they walk away feeling empowered with the understanding and skills to save a life.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Many customers "price shop" looking for the lowest cost class. Our prices are low because we don't advertise, but price should not be the deciding factor. Find a CPR instructor who is going to give you the attention you deserve for your money. A $10 difference in price shouldn't make your mind up for you.
