Introduction

There are two things in life that I knew that I wanted to do since I was a young girl. The first was to pursue a life of music, where I could play the instruments that I love, the Violin and Piano. The second was to share that love of music with others through teaching. Just like how my teachers helped me, I want to be a part of helping other students find their own love for music. My time in Taiwan, Germany, and the United States showed me how across different cultures, teachers approach sharing that message. I believe that my diverse background studying music in several different continents, countries, and cultures will bring a unique perspective to music that would benefit students. Whether it's violin, viola or piano, I hope to help people find their own joy in music! We are glad to have found Miss Iris as our daughter’s piano teacher! As a parent, it's sometimes hard to find the right balance of discipline and fun, especially with a young child who is just starting their musical journey. But Miss Iris knows how to engage my 5-year-old with patience, humor, and gentle guidance, keeping her lessons structured and playful. My daughter doesn’t practice much at home, but likes to go to her piano lesson, and so far I’m happy with the progress she’s made in the past few months.

Our 6 yo son started his piano lessons with Iris serveral months ago and we are thrilled with how well he is learning and progressing! She is patient and gives clear instructions during his lessons. My son never feels overwhelmed with the songs he is given to practice at home. She is also very responsive with communication and flexible when we need to change a time or day with our busy schedule. We have recommended her to all our friends interested in getting their kids into lessons and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a piano teacher!

I feel very fortunate to have found Iris as my piano teacher. I am an adult student and l have been studying classical piano with her for more than a year. She helps me set solid foundations (finger techniques, sight reading and some music theory) in my piano journey. Her teaching is personalized to my music preferences (she gives me enough agency to pick pieces that I love that suit my level) and life circumstances (she gives me just the right amount of assignments every week). She sets me up for challenges that are just a little beyond my comfort level so I can progress without feeling frustrated. Her love for music touches and inspires me, every time I have a lesson with her. I highly recommend her as a teacher for adults interested in playing the piano.

I feel privileged to have Ms. Iris Lin as my violin teacher. Learning violin from her is a truly enlightening, full-filling experience. As a teacher with advanced technical expertise and musicality, she is able to connect with the student, understand what is happening, and inform the student. It is wonderful. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer 30min, 45min and 60min lessons. It depends on how your schedule looks like and we can accommodate your needs. For beginner kids, I will suggest 30min lesson. For adult, I will do 45-60min per lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will ask their musical background, what age of the student and get to know their goals for learning music.
