Mural Decor

Mural Decor projects are completed by self-taught, nationally known artist, Jerry Ragg. Jerry is not only the artist who hand-paints each mural, but he also specializes in the design aspect of the creation. "Creating the right theme, color scheme and design are as important as the mural itself", says Jerry. One of his strongest assets is his versatility. Jerry’s capabilities range from graphics, animation, trompe’ l’oeil and custom faux-finish work, to photo-realism and fine art commissions on canvas. Another factor to his versatility is size. With completed murals ranging from 10,000 square feet to a small bathroom space. Murals can be painted on various types of surfaces, such a as canvas, brick, metal or directly on the wall. He’s completed murals on almost every surface imaginable. When Jerry was 8, he got into his dad’s paints and completed his first mural downstairs in their basement. Of course, he got in trouble, but when his parents noticed that he had a talent, they chose to support him and encouraged him to finish painting the mural of his favorite cartoon characters. Jerry says, "In my early adult life I was contemplating a career choice, hopefully in art. Because I’ve always been an aggressive painter and like to paint large images, I found a way to have a career doing what I love – painting murals." As a result, Mural Décor was born in 1986. Jerry has sustained a 30+ year career as a professional mural artist. This career path has taken him on journeys all over the United States and abroad. He's been fortunate to complete major projects with large corporations, small business owners and commissioned by private collectors.
