- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with clients or speak by phone to determine their perceived needs. I make recommendations concerning the particular project. I then assist with the fabric and supply sourcing prices and create a timeline for completing of the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I initially learned to sew from mom who was an impeccable seamstress working at my father's dry cleaners. I went on to attend College of Alameda where I completed apparel design & merchandising program with an emphasis in suit tailoring. I have continually added to my skill set by working in various workrooms over the years where i could learn and fine tune traditional and modern techniques.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started this work by taking on the client's who didn't want to pay my mother's tailoring prices. Sewing and alterations services were how I financially sustained myself in college.
