Teaching composition, orchestration, guitar, piano, and ukulele for many years, Mark has had the pleasure of guiding his students towards their musical aspirations. 🎵 From ages 5 to 100 and including special needs individuals, he ensures a fun and personalized learning approach tailored to each student’s interests and objectives. “On average my students study with me for 3 to 4 years and some have gone to have musical careers touring with their bands and making albums.
Others, enjoy as a hobby or a therapeutic activity similar to music therapy.” “I really try to teach the instrument in a fun way especially with kids but also at the same time I encourage musicality including ear training, theory and an understanding of what makes good music in terms of a technical point of view.” “Having fun and enjoying what you are doing is the best way to learn an instrument.
Enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Mark eagerly studied for two years, with a focus on classical theory, harmony and piano. The Royal Conservatory was the beginning of Mark’s musical education, which ultimately led him to Boston’s fabled Berklee College of Music, where he earned a B.A. in Film Scoring and Composition. While at Berklee, Mark studied under the late world renowned Harvard and Berklee professor and classical composer John Bavicchi. During this time, Mark was also featured in Guitar World Magazine’s prestigious Mike Varney Home Town Heroes column, for outstanding guitar instrumental composition.
Mark is currently an award winning working Los Angeles film composer with a track record of scoring movies on top platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, BET, and more, he brings a wealth of experience to both film/TV compositions and music instruction. You can hear Mark’s performance on the guitar though out the heavily inspired surf music score of the upcoming feature film comedy “Garlic Parmesan” Starring Omar Gooding, Jessica Ruth Bell, Paul Rodriguez and Eric Roberts due out late 2024!
