FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would like to have a casual meeting with my student and get to know their schoolwork, any hobbies, and interests outside of the classroom. Then, I would assess their level of proficiency at the piano whether it be ambidextrous exercises, sight-reading examples, or playing a song they are comfortable demonstrating to me. This will allow me to evaluate his / her current ability and assign an appropriate piece for them to work on for the first lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Masters of Music degree in piano performance from Northwestern University and currently maintain a private piano studio in Chicago and the north suburbs. I currently work as an accompanist at Northwestern University, Northwestern Music Academy, the Floating Opera Co., and a vocal choir in the suburbs. I have won awards for piano and performed in various venues throughout the US. I hope to pass on my accumulated knowledge and joy of the arts down to all my students. With my abilities, I hope to instill in my students a desire to reach their greatest musical potential.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with children beginning from age 5, to advanced high school students, to advanced young adults who want to return to music, and elderly couples who wish to maintain an active hobby.
