Introduction
If you want the best music instruction of your life and wish to actually learn music that YOU enjoy, from pop to classical and everything in between, gain from all the benefits of music and learn piano or guitar from a professional, full-time musician/instructor. Mitch Ethan Clement, private music instructor, will travel to your home or office. No contracts, no minimum number of lessons required and no charges for cancellations. I am great with kids and adults alike, from beginners through advanced. Current or former clientele include TV personality Howie Mandel, MMA legend Chuck Liddell, NBA star Michael Carter-Williams and the late Tony Scott, film producer. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in music and have worked almost exclusively in the greater Thousand Oaks area for the past 18 years. Read the reviews and Q and A below for more info! The most current available times are listed above or just TEXT or CALL me for specific availability and any other questions. Experience: After starting piano at age 4, I had begun figuring out how to play songs by ear, by age 12. I went on to play both upright and electric bass in the jazz band, wind ensemble and orchestra at Agoura high school while studying privately with David Young (Los Angeles Philharmonic). Thereafter, I went on to study music at Eastman School of Music in New York, Cal State Northridge and University of Northern Colorado where I received my bachelor's degree in music. As early as my late teens, I turned professional through teaching as well as performing with various bands and artists including Willie Waldman (Sublime, Snoop Dogg) and opening for bands such as Hoobastank and Phunk Junkeez. I have performed at venues such as Civic Arts Plaza, Canyon Club, Whiskey a Go-Go, The Mint, The Roxy, Sherwood Country Club, Reseda Country Club, Bovard Auditorium (USC), Key Club, Dakota Lounge, Cobalt Cafe, Beverly Hills Hilton and Disneyland. It is no surprise that there is a direct correlation between taking music lessons and having academic success. I love playing a role in establishing that focus and determination in people and knowing they will carry that with them the rest of their lives.

Mitch has been teaching my 7 year old daughter for several months now and we are so thankful that we found him. We had a bad experience with a previous instructor from Thumbtack who started the lesson late and ended early and didn't even remember what she taught the week before because all she cared about was getting paid. Mitch is totally opposite. He's really there and focused to make sure my daughter is progressing with a good balance between discipline and flexibility so she can continue to learn and improve without losing her interest or confidence in playing piano. If you or your loved one is looking for a piano instructor I strongly recommend Mitch, he will customize your journey per your needs and you will definitely see you are learning and improving over time!

Mitch was a perfect fit for my daughter and made piano lessons fun and not stressful. He determined what her goals were and her level of proficiency and worked with her at a pace that was just right. Mitch is very talented, personable and I would recommend him highly.

We are thoroughly pleased with our experience with Mitch. I have 2 girls taking piano, and 1 taking guitar from him. He has been extremely professional, and they are enjoying his laid back teaching style while making solid progress. My daughter has learned more on guitar in 3 lessons than she did in months with another teacher. His experience as a working musician is a bonus and we are excited to see where their talents lead as a result.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I help people learn how to play their favorite songs on piano. I teach ear training (even for my younger students) which improves listening skills. I can transform your favorite pop songs into easy piano versions and I can help you learn to read music. You tell me what your goals are for piano and I promise to satisfy all your musical curiosities.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I have three current students Jake, Brandon and Jacob who will be attending John Hopkins University, University of Virginia and Seattle University respectively this fall. I have taught these students for a combined 14 years of music training.... None of which plan on having careers in music but the moral of the story is playing music helps balance your life. It can open a young persons mind all while reducing stress. It's no surprise that there is a direct correlation between taking music lessons and having academic success.
