Introduction

Hi! I’m Maria. I’m the owner and dog trainer of Maria’s K9 Legacy. My mission is to help build the connection between you and your pack by being able to properly communicate through dog psychology and various training methods. I am a balanced trainer and use various tools depending on what will be the most effective for the dog and what the owner feels comfortable using. I believe that all dogs should be treated as individuals, as just like humans, we are not the same. Our first step will always be working on building a solid relationship and foundation within your pack.

Please use Maria’s experience and kindness towards any dog. She literally enjoy being with them. I am hiring to make small mistakes in my training towards my dog. She is professional and even on the rainy day she came from SF valley all the way to Santa Monica on time. I have full respect for her being punctual in this huge city ❤️🙏🏻

Maria is a true dog whisperer. My 10 year old yorkie Napoleon decided enough was enough with my rescue Max and was attacking him. In response, my rescue attempted to fight back but is much larger than him and could severely injure him. My home was pure chaos that that I had to temporarily house Napoleon at a friend’s since he was getting way too overworked and injuring his paws trying to claw his way out my room to attack Max. I was so worried and stressed because I didn’t want to rehome Max after almost 2 years with him. Everyone told me it was impossible for them to ever coexist but after 2 sessions, we are already seeing an improvement! Although it’s gonna take time and work, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. My home is a lot more peaceful and Napoleon has ceased the self injuring. Max is also much better with pulling on walks. Maria is very patient, knowledgeable, and overall an amazing teacher. I can also tell she loves what she does. Her prices are fair and I love that she comes to my home as the training is tailored to the layout of my home. I am excited to continue to progress with my dogs with the help of Maria. If you’re having trouble with your fur babies, seriously trust Maria and put in the effort to the homework assignments she gives you after each session. Thank you again Maria for helping me understand my dogs better. I’m excited for them to coexist again one day.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer discounts on multiple sessions booked. Payment needs to be in advance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On our first session I will be evaluating your dog and we will be discussing what you need help with and what is needed to move forward with building a proper relationship. We will create a game plan with homework so that you are set up to continue training until the next session.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 5 years of experience in dog training, working and mentoring under various top dog trainers and programs. I started training service dogs and went on to learn about other aspects such as dog psychology and behavior. I am also an AKC (American Kennel Club) evaluator.
