I am a multi-disciplinary artist. My background is in drawing and painting, and I have a BFA degree in 3D Metals Art and Jewelry Design from Cal State Long Beach. I also have experience in painting large scale murals, woodworking (building wood furniture and refinishing surfaces), and Illustrator/Photoshop and Procreate.
I have more than 10 years of experience teaching drawing and painting at private studios as well as public education settings. I also have 3 years of experience teaching jewelry making, skills such as enameling, etching, soldering, and stone setting.
As a creator I work with clients to create a brief, a summary of what the client's requirements are, what is their esthetic preference, when they require the job to be done. Once I know all the parameters of the project, I create multiple designs to make sure the client has choices. I allow up to 3 revisions of the design, and give the client an estimated cost and date of completion. I communicate throughout the process to make sure the client is involved as much as they'd like to be. I can be as free-sprited or meticulous as the project requires from me. I pay close attention to details and make sure everything is done with the highest level of quality.
As a teacher, I use a student-centered approach. Regardless of the student's age, they will have a choice in what they'd like to learn. I will then provide the scaffolding needed to learn those specific skills and reach their goals.
Students can approach me with a predetermined project in mind or I can help them brainstorm, create sketches, and choose a final design based on their needs and desires.
I take joy in creating and teaching, and am very easy going to work with. I care deeply about my students and clients and it's extremely important for me to know that they are walking away happy with their experience.
Feel free to reach out with any questions, or for a free consultation. I will be happy to speak with you.
I am looking forward to working with you.
