Introduction
Marco is from Florence and grew up around great Italian food; His father was proprietor of Trattoria Tipica Toscana in Florence starting in 1957. Arriving in the U.S. in 1988, Marco brought his skills to the kitchens of such excellent restaurants as Il Giardino in West L.A., Chianti on Melrose Ave., Tutto Mare in Newport Beach, Piatti in Santa Barbara and then opened Pane e Vino in San Francisco before starting his Trattoria Fresco in Ross in 1999. Today he embraces today's new ways of enjoying great food, catering meals for takeaway and offering on-site private chef services for events.

Marco is, without exaggeration, the best and most authentic Italian chef available in the Bay Area. He has catered several events for us, from plated hot meals to exquisite buffets and our guests still talk about how good the food was.
