- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we will schedule a phone call to get to know what you are looking for a bit better. Although a phone call is not necessary, some people take comfort in sharing their needs prior to the class. This way, we all come to our first session informed, acquainted, and we can jump right to work. After the phone call, we will choose a time that works well for our first lesson. You are not required to pay anything until we meet each other and your first lesson is finished. After your first class, you can choose to pay lesson per lesson, or to buy a package. We can talk about scheduling going forward, frequency, goals, etc.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with a wide range of customers. and I take a very tailored approach to your specific goals. See the complete list of dances I teach at the bottom of this text. Let's take a look at what I can offer you depending on your needs: Salsa and Bachata + other social/ballroom dance clients: I grew up studying Latin dance extensively. I continue my studies to this day and work with adult clients who are in the social dance scene. My students range from beginner level to very advanced, competitive Salseros and Bachateros. I teach bachata to both leads and follows, as well as couples. Salsa - I teach mostly salsa on 1, but feel comfortable working on 2 as well. I know both Linear and Cuban styles. In my teaching, I strive to educate my students on proper body mechanics and safe dance techniques. I feel confident teaching leaders, followers, and couples. In my lessons, I establish a timeline with my students to help them achieve their dance goals. Together, we will focus on meeting your goals with consideration for your physical abilities, experience, as well as financial and scheduling constraints. Wedding dance clients: Having worked in a wide range of settings, I am prepared to handle any special circumstances that you may bring to the table (tough schedule, time/budget constraints, special requests, etc) I am a great choice as your instructor if you have never experienced dancing with a partner before. I understand that an idea of entering a dance studio with your fiance may be daunting. In our sessions, I will use simple, clear language to guide you through entry-level partnered moves. After the first class, you can expect to feel confident that you and your partner will achieve harmony in your wedding dance. It may seem easier than initially expected. I am also specialized in safe techniques for partnered tricks (such as dips and lifts) - we could add a couple of cute, romantic moments that will impress all the guests! I make sure to check in with both of you to incorporate feedback about specific likes and dislikes. We will correct and adjust our course into the direction that you feel most comfortable with. I will use creative choreography to craft a dance that is specific to your song of choice. I can also help you with choosing the music, if needed. Together, we will make your first dance a memory that you will cherish for many years to come. Don't miss out on the opportunity to create a magical moment on your special day.
