Let me begin this with saying I am an Artist /Designer of many mediums. Everything I do is my canvas. I am my biggest critic! With that said, everything I work on is not complete until I say so! Truthfully, I don't think that other Designers really think outside the box. I think they have a set way of doing things and that's it. Me........it is important that my clients get exactly what THEY are looking for. I think it is important to let the client be a part of the creative process, as it keeps them involved and assured that they will get exactly what they want. I am into repurposing. I love giving New Life to things that have seen their time……whether it be a piece of furniture, an old sweater or blue jeans. That just is the start of the many things I have re-designed, when working with the tired and true! My list is endless. I feel very confident that you will be thrilled with my work as I can become obsessed with perfection! However, Perfection isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

UPDATE: Project #2! I was so pleased with the results of the first project Cynthia did for me, I had her do a second project with an antique desk and mini-chair of my late grandmother's. The pictures don't do it justice, but this desk is breathtaking now. I"m so happy with the results and just love working with such a dedicated artist as Cynthia. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I had Cynthia refinish a very old piece of furniture that my grandfather built many years ago. I had attempted to strip it, but the varnish used back then - wow, seemed impossible, so I gave up doing it myself. The piece I got back from Cynthia today is GORGEOUS. She was able to reveal an amazing "Bird's Eye Maple" that was not visible under the old stain. (Before and after photos)

I think it was fate that brought Cynthia into my life. I was looking for a furniture refinisher on the Peninsula when Thumtack Popped up. I put my project into the system and started getting bids on stripping a chest of drawers and two night stands down to bare wood and clear coat. I called some of the offers and clearly Cynthia was the best price and most enthusiastic about my project. When she and her husband came to pick up the pieces, we had a lovely chat and I felt even better about my choice. The next day they phoned saying they wanted me to see the stripped wood before they continued. It was indeed not what I had expected (a pale blond maple) , the wood was very dark with marks from previous finishes that would not be at all attractive. They suggested painting it. Then something Cynthia talked about at our first meeting came to my mind. We had talked about her decorating pieces in the style similar to Mackenzie-Child's. I have always been a fan and never dreamed I could afford anything like that. Cynthia, her husband Tony and I put our heads together and collaborated on a massive artistic endeavor of creating a whimsical design using my color palate and came up with an unbelievable project. They worked their magic on my ordinary pieces and now I have the happiest most creatively beautiful pieces that I could never believe that I could own. They were wonderful to work with. The highest integrity and very talented artists. Beautiful people and extraordinary work. And to top it all, affordable pricing- in fact a bargain for talent that they have. I can't wait to start my next project with them!

Cynthia refurbished and painted my entire wrought iron table set; including chairs, love seat and side table. She and her husband Tony did a great job - took their time and were very meticulous in their work. My furniture looks great now in my back yard - Not so old, discolored and rusty. I would definitely use them again for other projects.

Cynthia was very responsive to all my questions, ideas, and concerns. She refinished my 30 year old oak table and 6 chairs, and also reupholstered the chairs. With leftover fabric she made a table runner to match. She got the job done, always with a smile!

I consider myself extremely fair in my pricing when I see what other Pros charge. It’s not just about getting a job done to me. It’s about doing the very best job I can do on a project. I am an Artist, which means I am a perfectionist. Each and every piece I do is my canvas.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet a new customer and see the work for myself. Photos don't always show the details clearly, so I like to see the piece and then I can usually give an accurate estimate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My Grandfather was a cabinet maker. Been doing this type of work just about my entire life.
