About
Cohort is an affordable and comprehensive college counseling service that serves students across the country virtually.
Our advisors are graduates from 25+ top universities (Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, U Chicago, etc.), who are eager to help students apply to college!
Our philosophy:
1. Follow our optimized college admissions timeline: based on a decade of successful application cycles
2. Think like an admissions officer: we teach you how to develop an intuition for a great application
3. Apply using our 'teach-and-do' model: we'll teach you what matters, then you do it live, to get the ball rolling and get immediate feedback
Our outcomes:
89% of our class of 2024 was accepted to a Top 50 school including MIT, Harvard, Yale, Duke, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Penn, USC, and many others.
Our model:
Students are paired with an advisor who guides them through the college admissions process. This can start as early as Freshman year or as late as Senior fall. Their advisor will teach them to think like an admissions officer so they can craft more engaging applications. Their advisor will be there to offer feedback along the way.
Advisors instruct students in intensive small group sessions and provide 1 on 1 support along the way.
For students earlier in high school, our guidance is on activities, classes, and standardized tests. For those closer to graduation, we get tactical to make their applications and essays strong.
Your trust means everything to us. Learn about our review guidelines.

From Google
Cohort was my guiding light throughout the college application process. They genuinely care about the students they mentor, and the small groups (cohorts!) of students with similar goals made me feel supported every step of the way. I highly recommend this program to any student applying to college, especially those from FGLI backgrounds with limited resources.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer three tiers of pricing depending on when students enter our program.
If a student begins:
- Junior spring or Senior fall: $1,200
- Sophomore spring or Junior fall: $1,800
- Sophomore fall or earlier: $2,400
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a student first joins, we take them through an onboarding process to get to know them and their availability. Then we send them several advisors to choose from along with their bios. Students can choose the advisor that best matches their academic and professional interests.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with students at all stages of the college admissions process from Freshman who are looking for guidance on the types of activities to pursue or classes to take to Seniors who want help taking their essays to the next level.
