The Junkluggers of San Jose is a sustainability-driven junk removal company committed to the environment and the communities we serve. We do things differently compared to our competitors. With our green guarantee, we donate first, recycle second. We guarantee the price you pay will never be higher than the estimate we quoted. Sometimes, you'll even pay less! We know the importance of reducing waste, so we made our goal to keep all junk out of landfills by 2025! When we take away your unwanted items we go to local charities (HOPE, Habitat, Goodwill, and more) around San Jose, Santa Clara, and nearby. Since the items donated were yours once upon a time, we will send you a tax-deductible receipt for helping out your own community! If your items can't be donated, no worries! We recycle unwanted items as much as possible to ensure that your environment is protected at all times. We serve Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Palo Alto, Stanford, Cupertino, San Jose, Milpitas, and the surrounding area.

I'd been looking for years for a way to get rid of all the junk in my house that didn't involve tons of planning and legwork: figuring out what is in good enough condition to donate, negotiating with the trash pickup companies to pick up furniture, hoping that the city will let me dispose of enough cardboard to dig myself out of the massive pile of boxes that comes along with quarantine life. Junkluggers solved the entire problem. Doing it myself would have been cheaper, sure, but given the amount of effort it would have entailed, I'd never have gotten around to it anyway.The folks who arrived to pick up all my junk were friendly, accommodating, and (best of all in a pandemic) fully masked and socially distanced. I was particularly happy to see that they were very careful with all the items, making sure they didn't get damaged or scratched as they loaded the truck to maximize the chances of being able to donate them. I also get the peace of mind of knowing that most of what can't be donated will be recycled (yet more work I now don't have to do). And having all of the clutter gone is nothing short of cathartic. If you can afford the cost of this full-service approach, I highly recommend it.

The team was very responsive and open to conversation and working with our needs. Omair and Eric set up a call to discuss next days plan and understand our limitations. Eric and Mike were professional, productive and uncomplaining during the removal. I was very surprised on how much they were able to fit in the truck and how efficiently they organized and gave it thought. All of the team members had good understanding and did a good job. We had second day of removal and had to modify the time in the last minute due to other conflicts, but Eric was very accommodating and came ahead of schedule to make it work with us. They offered us a good price and were mindful that we were a non- profit. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for junk removal.

Service was prompt and efficient. Appreciate the fact that Junkluggers does all that it can to avoid disposing of items in land fill. Also appreciated the fact they were able to dismantle the bed I donated . . and carry it down 3 flights of stairs.

Eric and his team are fantastic. They explained the process clearly (quote, junk removal, payment, donation/receipt). I had a mix of everything (bed frame, kids' bike/scooters/hoop, non-working small appliances, etc.). They were prompt and attention to details. I will definitely use them again in the future. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We price the service charge primarily on the volume it takes on our truck. Our trucks are larger than most of our competitors. A full truck can accommodate a studio or a small one-bedroom apartment. Our minimum starts at $134.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you book an appointment with The Junkluggers, we give a 2-hour window. A minimum of 2 professionals arrives and assess the space it occupies on our truck. We provide a FREE NO-OBLIGATION on-site estimate. With our price assurance, you NEVER pay more. If we overestimate, we charge only the space it actually takes on our truck but if we underestimate, you NEVER pay more. It's a win-win!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our crew goes through multiple trainings before starting to shadow senior staff in the field. Team and customers' safety is one of our top priorities.
