FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Jon aka Dj Waza simply describes our most booked gig type: "My favorite niche is small or medium private events, where I can bring all sound equipment and basic lighting in a smaller car, quickly set up at a customer venue, and jam for hours!" * Pricing can vary depending on size and type of event, booking fees, transportation fees depending on distance, and extras such as larger sound systems and lighting, possible required insurance at certain public venues, etc.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Contact the customer as soon as possible to discuss the details of the event, expectations, wish lists, etc. and provide tentative costs/quote. 2. Email or text detailed quote to customer. 3. Once customer accepts quote and pays the deposit, event is booked in our calendar! *Remaining balance is typically due on date of event. ** We like to keep in contact with the customer in the time leading up to the event, in case there are updates with the schedule, venue, or even small details we can help with, like "I want this specific song at this time". The more clear the communication, the better!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have loved different types of music since childhood. My Bachelor's degree is in Mass Communications, which included internship at local radio stations. I received my informal on-the-job training from being part of a mobile DJ business for 3 years before going out on my own. My 20+ years of experience from the corporate world in the Silicon Valley has given me useful skills for this business such as leadership, project management, effective business communication, professionalism, the list goes on and on. All I had to do was make it fun ;)
