Introduction

We are a local SF band playing traditional and modern jazz with originals and R&B/Soul. We are flexible and can play as a trio, quartet, quintet, or sextet. Our group is extremely well rehearsed and plays enjoyable high quality live music with a rich sound. We play Straight Ahead Jazz, Blues, Swing, Jazz vocals, and Soul/R&B. Instrumentation includes upright bass, drums, keyboard, electric guitar, saxophone, trumpet, and male and female vocals. Please visit our website for band bio. Mish is a patient and knowledgable instructor who has helped me with my trumpet playing on several occasions over the last year. Whether we are jamming together or he's explaining a music theory concept, we have fun, and I learn something new. Playing with Mish is way more fun than practicing alone, and I learn more too.

He is very knowledgeable in music theory and can apply it across different instruments. He is patient and can identify strengths as well as areas that you can improve on. He can help guide you in the right direction, and give you many simple pointers that will come a long way in improving your technique, understanding, and confidence to pave your own learning path. More importantly, he stays grounded and doesn’t let his expertise from connecting with those with less experience in music, and will know how to simplify a concept. Sunny the sax is one positive and enthusiastic musician!

He inspired me to learn the saxophone and when I found he was teaching I got so happy and he taught me really well. He was very patient and encouraging and allowed me to take my time and be comfortable. He also is able to perform very well, I’ve watched him perform many times and he has so much passion towards what he is doing. I really appreciate the time and effort he puts into it.

Understand what the customer needs and set clear expectations. Negotiate a rate and confirm a commitment date, time, and address. Confirm availability of audio equipment and stage/performance area.

We are expert jazzers living local in San Francisco. Check out our video and audio demos on curiousplanet.band. We rehearse weekly and maintain a large repertoire of rich jazz music that results in a polished, rich, and entertaining live performance. We play multiple live shows weekly. Some of us are music teachers, orchestra performers, and we have all been playing music for a long time.
