FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is dependent on a variety of factors, for professional photography services those are most generally the experience of the photographer and the intended use of the photos. The CEO of Walmart should expect to pay more for a headshot which will be used across multiple websites, quarterly reports, thousands of business cards, etc. versus a recent college graduate who needs a profile photo for their LinkedIn.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Each new customer is treated based on their personal or professional needs and requirements. Most jobs are simple enough that setting a time and place along with what the customers is looking for in a general sense is adequate to schedule and begin work. Larger orders or more established businesses may be better served by a written contract outlining the parties responsibilities and roles. In either case it starts with making contact, sending samples of images or describing what the customer is looking for and or how the photos are intended to be used and viewed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from a couple classes in high school and college my training has all been "on the job." In that respect I've been working and learning for the past 10+ years exclusively in the field of photography.
