Most people don't know how to get stronger using calisthenics and only associate this training modality with high rep sets of partial range of motion push ups, occasional sketchy looking pull ups, jumping jacks, etc. That's the modern way of doing calisthenics and we are determined to change that by bringing the old and forgotten method of strength training. This method was used by ancient Greeks in Sparta, ancient Romans and many other civilizations of that time. More recently, it's been used by monks in Asia, martial artists, and some old-timers, but most of it has been lost in time. The old method will teach you how to get as strong as possible using exercise progressions that will manipulate the leverage of your body and challenge your muscles like they've never been challenged before. It is time to go back to this old-school training method that has been tested for thousands of years and has a proven record of delivering results!

In just 2 months, training at Capra has generated a wave of positivity thats rippled into other aspects of my life. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable, attentive and offering a great perspective on fitness and exercise, I have felt welcomed and comfortable with my coach, Matt. He demonstrates each exercise precisely, and is excellent at giving thorough and digestible explanations to any questions. Using an individualized approach to steer towards my goals, Matt has taught me the importance of listening to my body; how to challenge myself and adapt my workouts according to my environment and personal needs that day. With support and guidance, Ive come to acknowledge and appreciate the mind/body connection and have been getting stronger both mentally and physically. The skills and strength I have gained in a short time have made noticeable differences in my everyday life; my posture, my breathing, my self awareness and intuition have all improved. Not to mention things that I have always enjoyed are easier and even more enjoyable (walking, hiking, biking, swimming). While I am gaining strength, resilience, and mobility, I am continuing to learn so much about myself and my capabilities. I highly recommend Capra for calisthenics and bodyweight training, it is efficient, effective, fun and so rewarding.

Ive always been active, love lifting, and exercising and would consider my self fit. However, now that I am on the wrong side of 35, I noticed that with weight lifting I was injuring myself often. I wanted to try something different that felt natural and stumbled upon body weight training. I started training with Matt 5 months ago and what a great experience it has been. Matt is knowledgeable and looks like he practices what he preaches (Very important to me, I want a trainer who knows where the gym is!) He is motivating but not mean, Ive throughly enjoyed being trained by him in one on one sessions. Nothing more motivating than having someone encourage you to do one more set. Id highly recommend body weight training for anyone who feels they have plateaued at the gym. As Im learning, its amazing how heaving I am, and my chest and arms look way better than they did with any free weight exercises. Not only does he take accurate records of my workout, we are often varying our techniques, and I am never bored. Not only does he push me, he notices when I may have pushed myself too far and will dial up or dial back the exercises based on my performance. He is a true professional and it shows. I have to be honest I was skeptical at first but I am now a body weight training believer. Body weight training aka calisthenics is an incredible way to sculpt your body. Thank you Matt and thank you Capra!

I have made some impressive progress in my bodyweight training since I started working with Thomas at Capr. The workouts he writes are very consistent which helps me make progress toward specific goals, while also providing variety to keep the workout fun and interesting. I'm a big fan of the minimal approach and focus on bodyweight exercises because there is a progression for everyone no matter what level you're at. Love going in every week!
