FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing starts at $25/square foot up to $35/square foot. Pricing is dependent on a number of factors, most importantly the amount of detail in your design. If you have a budget in mind, we can discuss what is possible for your space. This is on the lower end for hand painted mural pricing and speaks to the fact that I am newer on the scene as a full time artist. Lower prices often reflect artist that use aerosol for their work vs. being fully hand painted. If you want a mural for your school or non-profit, or would like me to facilitate a youth-led mural for your space, talk to me about a discount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will talk in-person so I can see the wall(s) where you desire a mural. I will provide you with an estimate on site. If you decide to work with me, you will pay a deposit (25%-30% of the project cost). Upon deposit receipt, we will engage in more design consultation. I will share sketches and ideas with you to ensure you are happy with the plan for your custom mural. The deposit pays for this design time and any paint and materials that need to be purchased for your project. If you lead a school or youth organization, talk to me about facilitating mural creation for your youth. This is an empowering process for young people to participate in and can make your space truly unique and reflective of your school or organization. Pricing is same as mural pricing above, plus a teaching fee. Discounts provided for non profit organizations. If leading a group mural, the participants are part of the design process from start to finish!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an BA from Brown University with concentrations in Education (secondary- History and Art) and History of Art and Architecture. Brown's unique partnership with the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) enabled me to take painting and drawing classes at RISD throughout my undergraduate education. My Masters in Art Therapy is from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to the therapist training I received there, I had to maintain an independent art practice and fulfill art course requirements.
