FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As financial planners, we get compensated a few ways: - When we help our clients invest for their future, there is an annual fee for our expertise, portfolio management, tax-loss harvesting and ongoing service. The fee is based on the type of the account, your risk and time horizon. - We also get compensated when our clients follow the recommended plans and apply for insurance products. The insurance companies will compensate us through commission, and there is no fee for the client. - Fee based planning. Some of our clients, prefer a fee based planning. We will create a comprehensive financial plan for a fee regardless if you work with us or not. Fees are based on the complexity of the plan.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have created a simple process for our clients. It's a four step process: 1. Having a meaningful conversation about your goals, priorities and the vision for the future. It's important to understand what you hope will happen to you financially and what you fear it might happen. We take our time in this meeting to understand your psychology around money, the steps you have taken towards building financial security and what motivates you to build a financially secure life. 2. Based on the conversation, we will build a personalized financial plan that addresses your potential concerns, objectives and goals, as well as highlight the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. This is the stage to talk about strategy, tactics, financial products and see if there is a good fit or a desire to work with us on a long-term basis. 3. Third step is bringing the plan to life by helping you implement the strategies and recommendations. At this point, we are going to be working together to open the accounts, review investment strategies, set up protection plans, retirement plans etc. 4. The last step is to check in with you a couple of times a year to keep you accountable, as well as review the progress you are making. Regardless of how busy our lives are, we recommend to meet at least once a year to review the plan, change it as needed, and continue to grow your wealth and strengthen our partnership.
