FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
In non-pandemic times, I teach out of a studio in the soma district of San Francisco, and for a little more $ can travel to you within the Bay Area(SF, Oakland and Berkeley) or do lessons over FaceTime. I charge $70 for an hour lesson, and $40 for a half hour at my studio in the Soma district and will come to you within San Francisco for an additional $10. If money is ever an issue, I'm happy to talk about that on a case by case basis.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to begin lessons with checking in, warming up and some basic drills before moving into beats etc. I encourage students to bring music they like, so we can dig in to the drum parts. Drum lessons can and should be different based on how someone learns, and their specific interests. Some people want a foundation of music reading, technique, and rudiments, while, others just want to play music with their pals on weekends. Both are valid!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was in band(marching, orchestra and jazz band) through college and have played and toured in bands since 2000. I began teaching privately, with The School Of Rock and in elementary schools in 2003. My experience as a musician and teacher to kids and adults informs my teaching currently.
