Hi there! I am a Bollywood Indian Dance teacher living in San Francisco with ~20 years of experience in various Indian dance forms. Whether you're looking to learn a new dance style, prepare a dance for an upcoming wedding/event or exploring a new activity for your kids, I think I can help! I am known for my patience in working with dancers at all experience levels. I truly believe Indian dance is one of the most beautiful art forms and will serve as super fun hobby + workout combo. Nisha makes learning dance for total beginners very easy. Me and my wife had never performed before and wanted to learn a choreographed dance routine for our wedding performance. Going into it we were not sure if this is something we can do but after leaning from Nisha not only did we perform, we also enjoyed it.  She breaks down the steps into beats, and makes you comfortable with the steps and. She is very good at catching and correcting the steps while being patient with beginners like us. We came to her with a short window to learn and she was very accommodating to teach us the dance within that short time frame. She quickly jumped into practice sessions and helped us a lot with song selection too. I highly recommend working with her for any of your dance instructor needs.

I am sooo happy with the results of the dance that Nisha created and helped teach to me and my bridesmaids! I cannot stress how happy I am with the results (even though I messed up a little bit). Although I am not Indian and have never danced to Bhangra Or Bollywood music.. Nisha helped break down the moves and helped me and my crew looked like All-stars!! Nisha created a fusion Indian-Latin choreography that everyone loved at my wedding (especially my husband who says this was his FAVORITE PART of our wedding!). Nisha was so sweet and supportive during the classes. She made me feel comfortable every step of the way and even changed the choreography based on my input. Not only is she an amazing instructor but she also happened to teach me all of this WHILE RAISING HER TWINS!!! She’s truly a super woman! Recommend her so much!

Nisha choreographed 3 songs for us for our upcoming wedding. We are both not trained dancers, so Nisha expertly choreographed steps that were suited to match our level. We are thrilled with how the final medley turned out (English, Hindi, and Tamil), and would highly recommend Nisha to choreograph your wedding dances! Along with her passion for bringing out the best in our dancing skills, she is very efficient and she worked with us to make several different music cuts. We booked Nisha for a couple months worth of lessons for a surprise first dance and Bollywood remix for our wedding reception. I cannot overstate how gamechanging her classes were, not just for our wedding but for our future. I was previously the person who never participated in any kind of dance, even garba! Now I am looking up dance studios and think this is going to be a part of how we participate in future activities together. Nisha is an incredible teacher - she is patient and kind and easy to work with. But she's also demanding in the right ways and pushed us to go beyond our comfort zone to dance on another level. She taught us a traditional western style first dance segment and combined it with Bollywood fusion for our second and third segments. She even mixed the song for us in a way that impressed our DJ! Our family and friends were completely blown away by our dance routine - couldn't have asked for a better result! Seriously, these are the best dance lessons you can find - Nisha is awesome!

Nisha is the absolute BEST. We booked classes with Nisha to prepare a surprise Bollywood-dance for our wedding. Nisha prepared the dance and cut the music, taking our song preferences into consideration. She was so patient, fun and is such an amazing teacher - she made sure we were ready for the big day. The dance was epic and everyone loved it. We would book dance classes with Nisha again in a heartbeat!

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am a full time management consultant and a recent mom of twin babies. Dance is my passion and when I moved to SF 5 years ago, I could not find anything in the city that allowed me to continue Indian dancing. So I started Naach :)

I create choreography + teach to new brides / grooms looking to prepare a first dance or Sangeet performance for their big day(s)! I also teach adults + kids who are looking to build a new skill and learn the basics of Indian dance.
