FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process begins with a meeting involving both the student and their parents to understand their college admissions goals and expectations. I make it a point to get to know students on a personal level, which allows me to highlight their unique qualities, skills, and even quirks throughout the application process. From this meeting, I develop a comprehensive view of the student's interests, academic strengths, extracurricular involvement, and potential career aspirations. This helps us create a personalized plan that aligns with their goals and identifies best-fit schools.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in School Leadership/School Development
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I actually fell into this role while working as a Vice Principal at a high school in Silicon Valley. In that position, I became well-versed in guiding students through the UC and CSU application processes, as well as helping them with financial aid applications like FAFSA, CalGrant, and the CSS Profile. Over time, I realized how much I enjoyed helping students navigate this complex process and tell their stories, which led me to pursue college counseling full-time."
