- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I’ve been keen on drawing and painting from a young age, and was recruited by a caricature company through my art program. Pros in the industry put me through a caricature bootcamp, and I was working as a live artist during summers between school. It’s a passion I’ve taken with me for decades.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I caricature live for birthday parties, corporate events, marriage proposals, weddings, and for guests at a theme park. I also draw based off photos, to commemorate anniversaries, holidays, and special occasions. I’ve drawn people of all backgrounds and ages, from toddlers to adults and everyone in between!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Caricatures are as much about the process as they are about the final artwork! Make sure your artist is friendly, conversationalist, and able to put your guests at ease during a 5-10 minute sketch; otherwise the drawings won’t capture the person’s warmth and personality.
