FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate includes my teaching fee ($55) plus the floor fee I owe the studio per lesson ($15). Singles, couples, or semi-private groups of 3-4 people pay the same rate with the cost split between each participant. I also offer package deals. Book two back-to-back lessons for $130 (one 1.5 hour session) or purchase a package of 8 lessons for $480. Lesson packages are non-refundable but never expire.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first lesson together we'll talk about the goals you have: would you like to dance socially, are you interested in competing, do you need choreography for your wedding dance or other event? Depending on your level of experience, I'll then introduce you to a variety of ballroom dances. Moving forward, we'll focus our efforts on developing one or two dances of your choosing and build from there. The frequency of your lessons will be determined by your goals, interests, and budget and we'll work to build a program just for you!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
From my initial introduction to partner/ballroom dancing, I was learning how to teach. I helped run my university's on-campus swing club and developed the basic skills necessary to communicate information effectively to my students. I got to see individuals who had never been on a dance floor grow into competent dancers and develop a new passion! Now, as I've relocated to San Diego and begun my professional journey, I have had the opportunity to be trained by top professionals and former champions not only for my own dancing but for my teaching as well. I've learned how to help students develop a strong foundation that will help them be successful no matter what their goals are and continue to hone my teaching skills as I work with my fantastic students!
