FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I start working with new clients, it is crucial to have a consultation before the appointment. Initially, I inquire about any allergies they may have. Ensuring that the makeup I apply is safe for them is my top priority. Then, I closely communicate with them to comprehend their desired appearance. To get a visual understanding of their preferences, I request photos of inspiration. Afterward, we proceed to schedule their appointment, ensuring that I have sufficient time to apply their makeup before their event.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2008, I finished a makeup certification program. Immediately after, I pursued further education and enrolled in cosmetology school in 2009 to obtain a license for hairstyling as well. I successfully passed my cosmetology license exam in 2010 and have been working in the field ever since. Fortunately, I managed to secure an opportunity to work in exciting roles like San Diego fashion shows, providing makeovers for military wives whose husbands were serving abroad, and my absolute favorite, the Hollywood movie guide award show where I had the chance to glam up numerous guests.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My mother has a cosmetology background as well. I grew up watching her style the hair and makeup of our family and friends. She was everyone's first choice for beautification. This had a strong impact on me and inspired me to do the same.
