I found Tejal through a Google search and hired her on faith (knowing very little about the art of henna in general and even less about local artists) to decorate my hands for my wedding in June 2010. (My husband and I are yogis and I wanted to honor India's traditions in some way for our spiritual marriage. And what a beautiful way!) Our initial meeting was very casual and friendly, and I felt comfortable discussing my visions for the wedding in general. I found her receptive, and creative in terms of picking out design themes -- from the many books of examples she had -- for me to review that might align with the whole picture of the event. It didn't take long to choose my designs. I was happy that she would come to me on the day before the wedding, because there was quite a bit going on... needless to say. She was quite flexible in working around my times and circumstances (I could only begin rather late that evening, but she did not have a problem with that). And it was actually a great blessing to have the excuse to return to my hotel room that evening for that appointment because I never could have imagined the stress that I would experience throughout that very hectic day. Having to leave the bustling reception dinner (after a not-so-minor emotional break-down) to sit in my hotel room and be forced to do nothing (because I couldn't use my hands!) was absolutely the best thing that could have happened at that time. :) I was also mesmerized by the whole process of the mehndi art. Tejal's calm groundedness was a haven for my restlessness as I sank into the cushions and watched the miracle of her craft filigree seemingly effortlessly across my hands and arms, transforming these taken-for-granted parts of me into wondrous art. She seemed happy to either chat casually in answer to some of my questions, or just to settle into a comfortable silence while I unraveled from the day. Both of these spaces helped to sooth my shaking nerves. Eventually my bridesmaids filtered in, oo-ing and ah-ing over the magic, and they, too wanted to have some part of that art on their hands or arms. Tejal stayed later than planned to make sure everyone who wanted some design got one, and I was amazed to see how each one matched my friends' personalities remarkably well. Though they were small due to our time limitations, each one was elegant and beautiful. I am honestly so happy that I chose to do the mehndi for my wedding, and that I found Tejal to do it. I loved the delightfully surprised look on my husband's face when he first saw my hands (it was a secret). And it made not only for great conversation and gushing at our reception, but for amazing wedding photos as well. I heard comment after comment -- even from a well-established tattoo artist friend -- that it was by far the best henna people had ever seen. What great fun! I am very grateful for the positive impact Tejal's art had on the whole event, and recommend her craft with absolutely no hesitations.

I just would like to say how absolutely thrilled I was to have both palms of my hands decorated with henna at my surprise birthday party!! My daughter knows how much I love all things Indian, so you can imagine how wonderful and honored I felt just to know that she had arranged for me, my friends and family attending that day to receive such beautiful body art created for us by the masterful hands of the Henna Tattoo Artist!!! We all looked so stunning wearing her beautiful artistry, and this was one of the single most things that happened that day at my party that had everyone for many weeks after buzzing about! Again I wish to extend to the artist who did my party a warm round of thanks and gratitude for helping to make my surprise party a totally beautiful and unforgettable experience! She was a big hit with me as well as everyone there, too, and I will keep her card handy so that I can invite her to grace us with her magic again someday very soon!!

Tejal was easy to work with from the get-go! I hired her to do henna during my Mother Blessing ceremony. She returned my emails and calls quickly, from initial booking through the event date, always available to answer questions or to clarify. On the day of the Blessing, she arrived right on-time and set-up quickly, and waited patiently for our ceremony to conclude. Even though we ran late, she was able to complete beautiful henna art on all of us - 10 people - within an hour. She is incredibly efficient but not without compromising quality or intricacy of design. My guests and I appreciated the book of designs she brought, from which she allowed us to make modifications as we desired. Thank you, Tejal, for making my first experience with henna art such a positive one!

Tejal came to my home in the evening and did my hands and feet for my wedding. The experience was wonderful and I will definitly hire her again for my belly blessing when my due date approaches. She was professional and fast and did an excellent job. I got so many compliments on her work.
