FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Everyone has their price. There is always someone higher and there is always someone lower. I've typically been in the middle with my estimates over the years which is a good place to be. People tend to look at the high price as too much and the low price as possibly having reliability and quality issues.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This Thumbtack online quoting thing is a good idea in theory I guess. It is quite convenient for the consumer however, there is much to be said about meeting in person, discussing everything, and visually inspecting the job. It is difficult to accurately estimate a project with a brief description and a few pictures.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
No formal education or training. Everything I know I have attained doing it hands on for thirty years...far superior to anything taught in a textbook
