FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer hourly and flat fee retainers. I offer payment plans. I offer military, student, and teacher discounts.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I must know my clients, and they must know me. I want my clients to know my motivations and goals, and in turn I want to know everything about my client. The more I know about the human, the better I can represent the client. Our first meeting is usually pretty long; I want to know where you were born, who your parents are, what work do you do, what are your passions, and more. After our first meeting, I want to make sure that I am the right attorney for you. I want my clients to ask any and all questions of me. Ask me about my upbringing. Ask me “why criminal defense?” And more!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended undergraduate and law school in San Diego. I attended school part-time and worked full-time. In law school I worked for the Office of Assigned Counsel, a branch of the Public Defenders office. I regularly attend continuing legal education (CLE) trainings to hone my craft.
