We had the unfortunate experience of discovering a water supply line leak that had gone unnoticed for some time, soaking wood and drywall, causing mold to grow. Thankfully, Geronimo Ochoa and his company, Golden Bay Restoration, came to the rescue. Geronimo responded quickly to our request for help and offered a free estimate. Upon meeting him in person, we were immediately impressed by his professionalism, knowledge, and overall demeanor, which confirmed the positive feedback we’d read in reviews of his company. After meeting with three other companies, we felt confident in choosing Golden Bay Restoration for the job. After our plumber fixed the leak, Geronimo and his son, Ivan showed up on time and tackled the mold remediation and cosmetic repairs efficiently. Throughout the process, Geronimo kept us informed every step of the way and the job was completed as promised. Not only was the leak repaired, but the area was left looking even better than before—something we greatly appreciated. Humidity levels have been significantly higher than normal this summer, and in order to tackle them I've had to resolve several issues, including plumbing leaks, HVAC breakdowns, and roof repairs. Since all of the above are risks of mold/dry rot I decided to hire Golden Bay Restoration to do a full inspection of the walls & crawlspace to see if there was any lasting damage and whether there are any remaining moisture sources that need to be taken care of. Geronimo responded quickly, visited my house on time, and was very thorough with his inspection. He took detailed measurements throughout the interior, crawlspace, and attic and saved photos of everything for me. He spent over an hour investigating every corner of the home, and was able to (a) provide photo evidence confirming that the wood in my home is in good condition, no signs of mold or dry rot & relative humidity levels of the wood itself are below 15% which is normal range (b) provide photo evidence of the location and shape of water stains within the crawlspace which completely explains where the remaining moisture sources are I got all the information that I needed from a professional inspection and then he said inspections are free and he doesn't charge for them unless something is wrong that needs immediate repair!! He insisted he won't bill me so I tipped him in cash generously for his time (any other contractor would have charged an inspection fee / diagnostic fee!!) and if I ever need anything related to dehumidifying, water damage, or mold/mildew/dry rot in the future I will be going back to him for sure. Thanks Geronimo. I'm a huge fan 🙂
