FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer students a free 30 minutes trial lesson for us to talk about their goals and experience my teaching style, basically for us to get to know each other better. I have monthly packages that are less than my individual hourly lessons. Come take a free trial lesson with me and we can discuss these rates!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For guitar/bass lessons, I will assess your musical level (if you already have experience playing guitar/bass) or talk a little about the instrument (if you’re a beginner). We will then talk about your favorite genres, musicians and what you want to learn so I can suggest songs that will improve your techniques as you learn them. For songwriting, if you already have experience we can review your songs, and learn how to come up with ideas to polish them further. Most importantly, you will learn how to overcome writers’ block. This is important because if you want a career you will need to generate ideas on the spot, oftentimes with little or no prompts. The skill to do this is something anyone can learn and it can be a life saver. If you are a beginner, we’ll talk about the main songwriting structures and building blocks of songs, and start with storytelling and how to use it in writing your lyrics. We always spend some time listening to music and analyzing your favorite artists so that you get some insights from their writing styles to use in your own music.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Berklee College of Music Alumni with a degree in guitar performance, song writing and Music Production.
