FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to charge per hour, although I'm open to charging for the project if I'm able to see the document I would be editing to assess the time required. I charge $30-$45 per hour depending on the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For copyediting or proofreading a book manuscript, I provide an estimate, hourly or for the project, once I learn the details or (preferably) see the document I would be editing. The same applies to articles or other documents that require editing. I prefer to edit Word docs using the Track Changes tool but can also edit Google docs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
EDUCATION: English and Journalism degrees, summa cum laude. TRAINING: Decades of experience as an editor and freelance writer for newspapers (including The Wall Street Journal), magazines (including numerous major national magazines such as Fortune and National Geographic Traveler), and corporations (including United Airlines, Chase, and Asics).
