Hi, My names Mike and thanks for checking out my profile.
I am a Tuner / Technician based out of Sacramento. I am currently the Lead Piano Technician for the Harris Center in Folsom doing all their concert tunings, as well as Folsom Lake College, and Vacavilles PAC. I have tuned most recently for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, regularly for Folsom Symphony, Whose line is it anyway (when they do their tours), Herp Alpert, Alon Goldstein, Preservation hall jazz band, to name a few, and many others.
I was originally self taught until meeting a bunch of old piano tuners and getting a piecemail apprenticeship from multiple senior piano techs in sacramento, Then I was hired to work for Pianodisc, and Mason & Hamlin Pianos building and installing digital piano player systems and am now a current member of the Piano Technicians Guild. Now I Primarily work as the concert piano tuner / school piano tuner for Los Rios colleges, and venuetech, as well as tuning full time.
I currently do a wide range of Services, including Tunings as well as Pitch Raises, which is a process that corrects the pitch of the piano should it fall too far out of tune.
On top of those, I do all repairs, new hammers, keytops, sticky keys, as well as regulation and voicing and regulation, and am familiar with Pianodisc operations and calibration issues as well as Dampp Chaser Humidity control systems and installations.
Outside of work, Im currently a student for Mechanical Engineering in college and when im not tuning pianos or cramming for classes, im fly fishing the many rivers around the foothills, or staying active outdoors with my wonderful wife.
I genuinely love what I do and will bring that passion into your instruments care. Every tuning is viewed as an interview for the next. Please reach out to check my availibility and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thanks!
