Hi, my name is Anh. I feel so lucky for finding a lawyer who had my back during my most desperate time. Before talking to Joseph, other lawyers I talked to said my case was weak. My employer denied my injury claim and even thought I made up the story of how I was hurt. I was desperate, because a hemorrhage was causing me to go blind in one eye. I was not allowed to drive and I had to stop working. I live by myself, and had nobody to turn to for help at home. It was very hard, physically and mentally. The doctors and everyone were so cold and short with me. They accused me of making things up. My dignity was insulted. I felt everyone was against me. But I only had enough time to focus on the surgery to rescue my vision. I was left with limitations to my daily life which caused tremendous depression. I was not even answering calls from friends. I felt helpless and exhausted until I talked to Joseph. He made me feel better right away and restored my dignity. He explained that he could not guarantee the outcome of the case, but said he would do his best and we could take things one step at a time. During such a dark time, he was the only one who looked out for me. He took care of my language barrier, helped me with interpreter at the meetings, arrange transportations for Doctors visits, meetings. I felt at ease, knowing he was fighting for me, even though I accepted the outcome was uncertain. But I followed his instruction, and he took care of everything for me. With continuing support, we fought through the process one step at a time until we were able to make my employer finally accept responsibility. Because of Joseph’s dedication, we were able to settle the case for a substantial amount that I didn’t know was possible. The reason I’m sharing my experience is so others who are in a similar situation (injured, overwhelmed, losing hope and trust in everything) can find the same happy ending I did.
