FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I aim to be reasonable, and can offer options to work within your budget. For example, I may be able to arrange a small group session--2-3 students at a similar level of the same subject--for a more affordable rate. Also, online sessions will cost less. My rates depend if I travel to you (I hour minimum), and if I provide materials and tailor lessons to your individual needs (vs. you come to me, have the materials and I just help you learn them.)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After a phone interview, where we determine we'd like to meet and try working together, I meet with students/families to begin. I informally assess the student's needs/skills and learning styles as we begin working together, and recommend a plan (how often to meet, length of sessions, supplemental materials/activities, etc.) For school-aged students, I like to see recent work, as well as progress reports and test results, and will communicate with teachers directly (if needed) to best meet student needs/goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA, with French Major and emphasis in Education. I have raised 4 children, who home - schooled for most of their academic years. All have pursued higher education. Since 2008 I have worked with various companies in SES tutoring, and now offer my services privately.
