I really love my Japanese lessons with Alice. Not only do they make sure I understand, but they try to meet me at my level. During my initial lesson, they made sure to find out what I wanted to be able to do (read, write, speak, etc.), and have since helped me focus on my area of concern. I appreciate the exercises we do in our lessons as I’m always learning something new. They will also provide homework for extra practice outside of class. Recently, they provided me with a kanji writing practice worksheet. It gives instructions on the stroke order and is incredibly helpful as I’ve never written kanji before. Overall, I highly recommend lessons with Alice if you want to learn in a comfortable and supportive environment!

I've only done one lesson to date, but Adam met me at my level and was able to teach me more in an hour than Duolingo or Rosetta Stone was able to do over several days on and off. Knowledgeable about phonetics and linguistics as well, and able to explain these concepts on multiple levels. I look forward to my next lesson.

Adam is a very patient and thoughtful tutor. He careful takes note of the overall ability of his students and adapts both his mannerisms and his curriculum to what is best suited to helping his students learn. The level of knowledge that Adam has is made clear during his attempts to aid his students without coming off as pretentious. He is a tutor that is genuinely there to help his students and is often willing to respond to short questions outside of tutoring sessions. Adam has been a great tutor for the Japanese language and I would highly recommend him for anyone that is looking to learn!
