The BeatBox is a music school with a focus on rhythm and percussion. Founded in 2023 by Travis Drumm and Dirk Stockton, we aspire to be a new type of educational environment for student artists. By taking a humanistic approach to academics we empower the player’s personal agency while informing their steps toward mastery.

Music has the power to inspire and educate, and nowhere is this more evident than in the drum lessons offered for young students at this local music school. The school’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians is commendable, and their drum lessons stand out (I sat through the entire 1st lesson, and experienced the level of engagement the instructors had).
The instructors (both, Travis and Ben) are not only skilled musicians but also passionate educators who understand the unique needs of young learners. They personalized the needs of my child. The lessons are structured to be engaging and fun, ensuring that students remain motivated and excited about their musical journey.
Now the school is brand new and the management, is working to update and polish the place to look up to their vision, have more equipment, etc. But if you support local business, I’m sure you understand that it takes little time. The school is located right off the highway and has a little parking lot attached. The quality of the drums and percussion instruments available to students is good, allowing them to experience the full range of sounds and techniques that these instruments can produce.
In addition, they had offered us in-home and remote options. Bottom-line, is that this is a good school that has very engaging, knowledgeable and experienced instructors. Take advantage of their free trial lesson and check it out for yourself. I’m sure you will feel that way, too.

Travis is very good at accessing a student’s abilities and interests. He adjusts his lessons accordingly and makes the lessons fun and challenging. He has gone out of his way to learn about my daughter and her interests. I highly recommend Travis and Beat Box.
