Learn at your own pace with an experienced and professional online tutor. Céline Andre is devoted to helping students of all ages and levels achieve their educational goals. She graduated from UC Davis in 2017 (dual Bachelor of Arts in History and Chinese), with coursework in English Literature, History (Ancient, American, Chinese, and Japanese), Anthropology, Sociology, and Natural Sciences. She taught at UC Davis (as a TA for History 9A: East Asian Civilization), and has been tutoring since 2011. Céline’s teaching method is adaptable to each student’s interests and skill level. The first step is to assess your unique strengths, goals, and areas of improvement. Tutoring sessions will progress through learning objectives designed to make you excel. Subjects: English (Beginning to Advanced) Chinese (Beginning to Intermediate) Essay and Academic Paper Writing GRE and SAT prep History (Ancient, Chinese, and American) Math (Arithmetic, Geometry, pre-Algebra I and II, Algebra I) Tutoring sessions are available online Monday through Friday 5:30 pm and later. We have loved working with Celine, my 3rd grader looks forward to working with her. She has tailored the theme of their work time together to his interests i.e. Star Wars. Céline is a phenomenal tutor! There aren’t enough good thing that our family can say about the care and attention she provides to our daughter in each of their sessions. Céline is very skilled at connecting with our daughter, which can be tricky for distance learning an elementary student. Also our daughter is very picky about her tutors. She has been thriving with her writing and math sessions and on many occasions asking for more time with Céline because she enjoys their time together so much.❤️ I highly recommend working with Céline if your child needs someone who can really get into their world and meet them where they are at to help move them forward in their studies.

Miss Celine helps a lot on English and history homework for my son through Zoom. My son is a special need kid. At the beginning, I worry about online tutoring. But after two weeks, my son logged into Zoom on time to attend each tutoring class by himself. He enjoys every class to meet with Celine. Effective tutoring!

Céline is very knowledgeable and experienced. My daughter is very shy but Céline is so pleasant she made my daughter feel comfortable immediately. She makes her lessons interesting so it does not feels like an extension of school work. My daughter enjoys her time learning and improving her English/Language with Céline. Celine came highly recommended by a friend and we have been very happy with her. My daughter is in third grade and her math skills are good, but she was starting to lack confidence in math class. Having someone to work with one-on-one has really helped. It’s not just math drills; they usually work on equations to start, take a little break with some games, and then move on to story problems. They work together for 30 minutes, and then Celine sends a couple of worksheets to be completed by the next week’s session. We started working with Celine in the summer, so she has been working on general 3rd grade math skills, but recently we connected her with my daughter’s teacher, to personalize the lessons more. My daughter is shy around other people, especially adults, but she seemed comfortable with Celine right away, even asking Celine if she could read her a short story that she wrote! That speaks volumes to me about how open and friendly Celine is. I would highly recommend Celine!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer both individual and group lessons. Prices may vary depending on the length of the lessons. I also offer discounts for group lessons.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I like to understand your overall goal and where students currently stand on the subject. Secondly, I like to ask students what they enjoy about learning and if there is a learning method that works best for them. This helps me determine how lessons and materials will be constructed. The curriculum is designed to appeal to the student while keeping them engaged and use their maximum potential. Scheduling is a huge component to the process as well. Please let me know what days and times work for you and I will do my best to accommodate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with a double degree in History and Mandarin Chinese from the University of California, Davis in 2017. I was also a student-athlete, so I completely understand the challenges of balancing extra-curricular activities on top of your studies. I also have background in English Literature, Art History, Anthropology, Sociology, Algebra, Geometry, ESL, and Philosophy. I've been tutoring children since 2011, and I currently work with students from Kindergarten to College-Level. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience seeing students improve in their math, reading, writing, and English speaking skills.
