FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with them and get to know them first. I’m great at getting people to feel comfortable talking to me, so I like to get to know the person so I can get a better idea of their taste and their mindset with the project at hand. I’d like to think of myself as a handyman with a woman’s touch. I pride myself in being hardworking and leaving my work area in pristine condition as if I were never there. For instance, whenever I do a demo, I leave the area “install ready” meaning if you had to, you could eat off the floor in there. I also do not believe in installing anything new into a dirty area. I do toilet installs all the time and my customers love that they end up with a bathroom that’s beautifully cleaned by the end. I love my customers and most of them end up being close family friends after working with me
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My dad had my brother and I by his side when we were kids in his wood shop, so we started learning early on and both ended up in construction. I just happened to stumble back into it when I went to work for my uncle at his masonry supply yard, and from there started working for the contractors reading blueprints and figuring out material costs to help them with their bids. From there, I went to work as a finish carpenter, soon becoming a carpenter foreman. After that I ventured into plumbing and then started working for myself and eventually came to where I am now, helping people do remodels or give spaces simple upgrades that transform their spaces while staying within their budget.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently did a 5 day job doing some cabinet modifications in Santa Monica in a house that was being sold for 6.8 million. It was a challenge and put my skill to the test but it was so fun!
